| I grew up in Michigan. Yes, I was a
"Michigander" transplanted to Florida from 1985 to February 2006.
Now I am back in Michigan and love it. Remembering from childhood
vacations in Florida, coming out of a cool restaurant was like
hitting a steam oven, very hot I liked it. I sure didn't remember
anything about Hurricanes! I also enjoyed visiting that little furry friend back
then, m i c
k e y m
o u s e Mickey
Mouse! Donald Duck! for ever let us hold are banners high! high! high!
..........Enough, enough..... Yea I like the little RODENT he
definitely put
Orlando on the map and made it the #1 tourist trap. I can't say I wouldn't
ever go back but I would take snow and cold over Hurricanes any day! I come from a fairly
decent size family, 3 brothers, 2 sisters one sister deceased. My father died in
1989 and Mother in 1996 not long before I took her on a wonderful trip to
Las Vegas. I loved both my parents and the only way I can think of describing them
is, remember the show "All In The Family" that was them
almost to a tee! Thank God we all turned out pretty well! All my
brothers and sister are pretty swell in their own way and I love them all. I
should add another brother which is my wonderful sister's husband
(Ralph) very talented guy. Their site is called
"Turtle & Raven's Place" click

to visit them. When I was a kid I was always trying to go over to their house.
We would all scheme and make up things so I could go over there and then we
would eat and play games all night. Great fun and memories. (Love you both
very much).
I think a very good thing my parents taught me (fighting, pulling,
and screaming) was about GOD. We had to go to Church every Sunday no matter
what! I will always appreciate them for that because some of the things you
see and hear about these days are really awful i.e. can't have a nativity
scene for Christmas or if you talk about GOD in school you are approving
Christianity. The Earth is not hanging from the north pole and spinning
around in space on an energizer battery. It is not an accident we can live
on this planet. There is a GOD!This all started when my ISP decided to offer high
speed digital service in the area in the late 90's. With speeds up
to 986kb a second, I was thrilled. In addition with my service, I
get free space on their server for a personal home page. I had some
experience with building websites. I began to do research and found
the best program was
WYSIWYG, (what you see is what you get). Basically you just
drop and type stuff all over the page. Boy, was that a long time ago. I found its
better to use a program that allows both WYSIWYG and
HTML editing, (MS FrontPage is the BEST). Then I discovered
Flash, sort of little movies using sound and making things move. Of
course these files can get very large when you include sound. For a 56k
connection its a little slow depending on how large of a sound file you use
and the length of the clip. I mostly use
HTML and other little add-in enhancements like
DHTML,
JavaScript, etc, which enhances your website. I still use Flash but try
to stay clear of it. You can see some examples on the
Flash Movie Page. The name of
my old web site was "Living In
Orlando", but now it is "GT Place" because of my move to Michigan.
My web site has changed too many times to count. I'm pretty happy with it
now because it has a lot to view yet easy to make changes. Look for new
pictures often because Santa brought me a GREAT digital camera.
I Learned about computers back in the Navy and
have tried to stay abreast of current technology ever since. I like
everything Hi-Tech, think the stuff is great. I have built more
computers than I can count, personal and on the job. I have done
many other projects, i.e. built shelves in the garage, bird feeder,
porch on the house, and a fish pond back in 1995. I like the out
doors very much. Since obtaining space for a web site I have been doing that, but I
still take breaks to play an occasional computer game. I'm a news junky and like to keep abreast of current events.
My favorite news
channel is FNC. I will
stay away from my political views cause we all have them, but I am a
registered INDEPENDENT. I liked listening to
(Z88.3) in Orlando Florida
and now will have to catch them on the www also like XM32 "The
Message".
I guess I am what you would say a "jack of all trades, but master of
none".
I like to build or fix just about
anything except TVs or Monitors, that was the worst shock I ever got.
I like jet skiing a lot. My first time was renting one in Tampa at John's Pass and boy was it a
blast! I just love those things, I think it is the speed you feel going
across the water and knowing if you fall off you won't do too much damage. I
do know they can be very dangerous, but am somewhat careful. Watch out
though,
when I get on one of those, the throttle can't go high enough.
