El Viaje - Granada / lost in the city - 22 September |

After walking around the
area near the Alhambra, I figured we could walk back down into the city and to our hotel. One of those
wonderful things happened - we got lost. We ran into other people who were lost also. The streets in
this area, bordering on the Albaicin, are confusing. Thanks to some helpful locals and my elementary
knowledge of the language, we were finally able to make our way back. This photo is of the typical
decorative elements you see on buildings around here. It's an interesting mix of old and new. We stopped
at a small supermarket. Interestingly it was one of the Spar chain which you can also shop at in Ireland
or the UK. I made an unwitting cultural faux pas by handling the produce on display, as you might examine
fruit or vegetables here at home. Apparently this is frowned upon in Spain, where the store personnel pick
your produce for you. We purchased a variety of food for our evening meal, and enjoyed it in our room back at the
Hostal Landazuri, once we found it again.
