It's been 3 years since I've updated Amanda's site! You can take a look at the pictures to see what she's been up to since last September. Yes, she still loves dogs. But she's expanded her tastes to include horses, dolls (Barbie, TyGirlz, Polly Pockets) and Hannah Montana. Coloring and crafts are also a favorite, and she recently discovered Perler Beads.

Amanda has been busy all summer playing with her friends, neighbors Daniella and Emily. When not hanging out on her new playset with her friends, she can be found picking flowers in mom's garden, catching fireflies (or other bugs), playing on the computer or swimming in Aunt Dru's pool. She's also been known to play with Molly, our new dog. Molly thinks she's one of the kids and is always nearby when they are out playing.

Amanda has been in daycare at Knowledge Beginnings in Lisle since June 2005. She's made a lot of friends there, but now everyone is going off to Kindergarten. She starts Kindergarten at Elmwood School on August 21. After school she'll jump on a daycare bus and head back to KB to play with friends who are still there.

Amanda's surgeon suggested that we have Amanda's nose repaired before she starts kindergarten, so on July 2 she went to Edward Hospital for surgery. We checked in at 6 a.m., surgery started at 8 a.m. and we were home by 1:30 p.m. Amanda did very, very well with the surgery. We went through a few bottles of Tylenol, but after 2 days she was ready to get off the couch and move around. The stitches were disolvable and have already disappeared. Her only restriction was "no rough play" for 6 weeks. She's been very careful not to bump her nose, and it looks great!

If you're wondering about Molly, she's a Border Collie mix that we picked up from Aunt Dru. Someone was giving her away and we decided to take her. She was about 6 months old when we got her in October 2007 and has been a lot of fun to have around. She's a very smart dog who likes to do tricks. Getting the newspaper for us in the morning is one of her favorites. Actually, she'll do anything for treat.
